Hi, I’m Fai Monaghan.
“I believe all people should have access to quality mental health care and am especially driven to assist marginalised communities who have had to deal with the added layer of trauma via oppression and discrimination.”
Before moving to the West of Ireland and setting up a private practice, I served as a clinical therapist at an integrated healthcare facility in Arizona. I worked collaboratively with my clients to address:
- life transitions
- self-esteem
- anxiety
- depression
- attachment injury
- substance use
- trauma
“I am a firm believer that we possess the innate ability to heal and grow. With encouragement, support, and evidence-based approaches, we can gain the confidence and skills needed for our transformation.”
As a strength-based, trauma, Internal Family Systems, and attachment-informed psychotherapist, I integrate evidence-based methods tailored to your needs.
I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner. Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based treatment that, in 2013, the World Health Organisation recognised as one of the recommended treatments for trauma for adults, adolescents, and children. My goal is to become an EMDR consultant and offer supervision to therapists training to become practitioners.
I have completed Level 1 Internal Family Systems (IFS) training and I integrate IFS in my practice.
Qualifications
I am an accredited member of the Irish Association of Psychotherapy and Counselling (IACP) and a member of the EMDR All Ireland Association.
I completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counselling at Argosy University and earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Arizona State University.
